I've been owl watching lately (not real owls), hoping to find the perfect piece to add to my jewelry box. I still haven't found the one, so instead I will share with you some of the interesting pieces I discovered.

And of course, the amazing pieces that I can only dream about - MB&F and Boucheron's JWLRYMACHINE and Chopard's Animal World Owl Watch.
MB&F and Boucheron's JwlryMachine
A collaboration between the young, cutting-edge Swiss watchmaker and the regal jewellery house, Maximilian Büsser and Boucheron created the JwlryMachine, an astonishing haute-joaillerie version of the Horological Machine N°3 (HM3).
A collaboration between the young, cutting-edge Swiss watchmaker and the regal jewellery house, Maximilian Büsser and Boucheron created the JwlryMachine, an astonishing haute-joaillerie version of the Horological Machine N°3 (HM3).
Dedicated to crafting radical horological masterpieces, MB&F first launched the HM3 in 2009, shocking the watchmaking world with its technical and aesthetic design (details of which are too complicated to comprehend). In 2010, Boucheron created a sparkling interpretation of the HM3, one in white gold with amethysts, diamonds, and blue and violet sapphires; and another one in red gold with tourmalines, rose quartz, diamonds, and pink sapphires. Basically, JwlryMachine is a bejeweled HM3.

Hand-stitched alligator or lizard strap, made-to-order.
True to the original HM3, the JWLRYMACHINE is not for the faint hearted. It is an imposing piece, made all the more so by its sheer beauty. The extreme refinement that radiates from the proportions, the choice of stones and the quality of craftsmanship makes this creation “very Boucheron”.
Chopard's Animal World
The Animal World collection was created for Chopard's 150th anniversary, featuring 150 exquisite jewelry pieces including the owl watch which won the Jewellery Watch Award at the Geneva Watchmaking Grand Prix last November 2010.
Price point: Will make you hurl at EUR183,000 (roughly PHP12.8M)
The watch is available in 18K white or rose gold with brilliant-cut diamonds, trapeze-cut diamonds, and trapeze-cut sapphires. Satin strap, edition limited to 15 timepieces.
With a jewel like this on the wrist, even telling the time might entail crossing the border into the world of dreams… And isn’t Chopard’s ultimate jewellery vocation precisely about creating dreams?
- Indeed.
